This week: Dill, Brent, and Jake are joined in the studio by Erie’s REAL working man (he bought the web domain, that’s proof enough) Jay Breneman!
You may be saying to yourself, “The real working man? I thought decorated veteran and owner of the only pair of work boots Brent Davis held that title!”
Well, like everything else Brenton talks about, there’s a tiny grain of truth surrounded by an ocean of deception and an avalanche of lies. Jay is with us to bring those lies into the light.
Jay talks about where he comes from: an impoverished upbringing, joining the Army right after 9/11, seeing multiple combat tours, then using what he got from his service to help him advance his life and career. See, Jay doesn’t lord his service over people, he instead uses it as a way to assist them. He did a stint on County Council, even serving as president, and now has several different projects going.
We talk about several things regarding military service: Why do people who’ve not seen action have a tendency to aggrandize the character of their service? Why do very few join for the wrong reasons? Why do they think they won’t get caught?
The Atacolypse Food Truck Beer Segment: Dill’s cousin brought us some Feuergeist from New Oberpfalz Brewing in Griffith, IN. This is a not-to-powerful IPA (6.4% abv/73 ibu) that we really enjoyed. After the Break: Jay actually DID some of the things that Brenton claimed to do – those that he didn’t pull from books and movies. Or news clippings. Mid-show, we debunk Brent’s claim about the BUDS knot-tying test as Dill finds a suspiciously familiar-sounding story by googling “SEAL knot-tying test”. You should try it.
Brenton doesn’t just make claims about his military service – now he’s claiming to have “stacked up” with the Erie Police in what is either an illegal action by the police or an outright lie by Brenton. We’ll let you, dear listener, decide for yourself.
Why do people who know Brenton Davis all eventually wind up disliking him so much? It’s a question that answers itself.
